Photographers bring nature home

Each week’s DuPage County Neighbor section includes at least one entry in our Photo Finish contest.

Our photo staff picks some of their favorite submissions to run each week and then one overall monthly winner.

This week’s entries had a definite nature theme, starting with the photo by Lena Conway of Naperville taken at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle.

“I enjoy doing portraits mostly, and so even photos of nature turn into a portrait,” she says.

George Smith of Naperville, meanwhile, submitted his photo of an Ahninga (Snake Head) taken in Tortuguero National Park on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

If you’d like to submit a photo of your own for consideration, email it in .jpg format with at least 300 dpi resolution to ssanders@dailyherald.com.

Include your name, address and phone number, plus a description of where you took the photo and the occasion for it.

The monthly winner will receive a $50 gift certificate, good at PJ’s Camera, Pickwick Place Plaza, 662 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn.
