Friends of the Parks Sponsor a Park Clean-Up Day

The Des Plaines Park District and the Friends of the Parks wish to thank all of the organizations that volunteered on Saturday, May 12, to help clean up and beautify the parks. Volunteers from the Iroquois Community School Wolf Pack 997-Den 1, Students from the Key Club at Maine West High School, the Rotary Club of Des Plaines, the Des Plaines Kiwanis Club and students and Associates from Threshold Martial Arts joined members of the Friends of the Parks to pick up trash at Lake Park, Kiwanis Park, and Jaycee Park. "We appreciate the community's time and dedication helping ready the parks for the summer," said Linda Traina, Superintendent of Recreation. "Our Parks Department is committed to keeping all of our facilities and parks in top condition, and we hope everyone will come out and play this summer."
