Scam alert on electric company representation in Lombard

LOMBARD, Illinois—The Village of Lombard has become aware of a scam that is being conducted in the Village. Solicitors from at least one electric company are going door to door or calling residents and representing themselves as the Village's new electric company. This is not the case.

The Village recently contracted with First Energy Solutions on behalf of Lombard residents and small businesses. Residents and small business owners will receive a letter in the mail on Village letterhead from First Energy Solutions explaining the aggregation program. First Energy Solutions will not communicate by walking door to door or by telephone.

In order to sign up for the aggregation program, residents do not need to do anything. This will be explained in the letter, along with instruction on how to opt out of the program for anyone who chooses.
