May 'Images' Highlights PE Building Renovations, Mock Courtroom Dedication

The May edition of “Images,” College of DuPage's monthly one-half hour television show, highlights upcoming renovations to the College's 25-year-old Physical Education Center and the formal dedication of the Homeland Security Education Center's Mock Courtroom in honor of Honorable Judge William J. Bauer.

Each month, Images highlights the personalities, news and curriculum of a vibrant College of DuPage campus. The show airs on 13 area cable television stations.

The May show includes an overview of the upcoming renovation of the Physical Education Center. Approximately 83,000 square feet of the existing 130,000 square feet will be renovated. A new 14,000 square-foot Varsity Athletic addition on the south side of the center will house facilities for the student athletes, including men's and women's locker rooms, a strength lab and a training room. Other renovations include eliminating the diving well and reconfiguring the lap pool into a competitive swimming space, upgrading the HVAC system, updating the exterior glass and frames for energy savings, and replacing scoreboards and the running track in the arena.

In addition, this month's program features a segment on the dedication of the mock courtroom in the Homeland Security Education Center in honor of Judge William J. Bauer of the U.S. Court of Appeals. Judge Bauer has more than 61 years of combined experience practicing, teaching and upholding the law and is known throughout the county and state for his fairness, quick wit and generosity of spirit. His dedication to education and mentoring makes the naming of the College's mock courtroom fitting.

This month's edition also features a segment on the College's many 3+1 agreements with partner institutions. These innovative programs allow students to complete their baccalaureate degrees through various four-year institutions entirely on the COD campus. Students have the added advantage of paying COD tuition for the first three years of their studies, and paying significantly reduced partner school rates for their final year.

Images airs at various times on cable television stations in Downers Grove, Wheaton, Addison, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Glendale Heights, Bartlett, Lemont, Elk Grove, Darien, Aurora and West Chicago. Check local cable listings for times and channels.
