Benet’s Schilf wins 300th
Julianne Rurka went 2-for-3 with a triple, drove in 2 runs and scored a run, and No. 3 Benet beat St. Viator 10-0 on Wednesday in Lisle to give Redwings coach Jerry Schilf his 300th career win.
Molly Moran allowed just 2 hits for Benet (24-4, 9-2 East Suburban Catholic Conference), striking out three.
St. Francis 10, St. Edward 4:
The No. 18 Spartans (24-2, 14-1) clinched the Suburban Christian Conference Blue championship with their 13th straight win.
West Chicago 6, WW South 5:
The host Wildcats (18-10, 6-4 DuPage Valley Conference) scored 3 runs in the bottom of the eighth, winning it on Tarah Rayos’ walkoff single. Kristy Santora hit a solo homer for WW South, who had scored 2 runs in the top of the eighth to take a 5-3 lead.
Glenbard South 19, Fenton 2:
The No. 9 Raiders (24-3, 11-0) clinched the Metro Suburban Conference championship, pounding out 20 hits. Brianna Meath and Hannah Taylor had 2 of the Raiders’ nine doubles. Kelly Kielbasa doubled twice for Fenton.
Waubonsie Valley 7, Lake Park 2:
Amanda Minahan was 3-for-4 and drove in 3 runs for the No. 13 Warriors (20-6, 11-3 Upstate Eight Valley), giving her 12 RBI over her last three games. Shannon Fritsche hit a two-run homer for Lake Park (18-12, 11-5).
