Wisconsin boy recovering after pit bull attack
TOMAH, Wis. (AP) — A 7-year-old boy from Tomah (TOH’-mah) who received more than 100 stitches and staples after he was attacked by a pit bull is home from the hospital and recovering.
Dakota Carver was taking the new bike he received for his birthday for a test ride on his driveway when the dog attacked. One of the boy’s friends ran to get Dakota’s mother. Tracy Tupper says she found her son in a pool of blood and the dog latched onto his neck. Tupper says she kicked the dog which knocked her to the ground as she shielded her son from the animal.
Tupper’s fiance put Dakota in the backseat of a car while they waited for an ambulance. The La Crosse Tribune says that after four days in the hospital, Dakota returned home Monday.
