Man accused in East St. Louis shooting death
EAST ST. LOUIS — A southwestern Illinois man is jailed on $2 million bond on charges related to the East St. Louis shooting death of a woman whose distinctive tattoos helped authorities identify her.
Prosecutors in St. Clair County have charged 18-year-old Donzell Curry of Centreville with first-degree murder in the death of Nyosha White of Sparta.
Investigators say the 19-year-old woman’s body was found on a road April 29 and that she’d been shot in the back of the head.
White had no identification. But her tattoos included “Princess,” “Love,” “Pain” and the number “4,” as well as the word “NeNe.”
It isn’t yet clear why White was in East St. Louis.
Online court records don’t show whether Curry has an attorney, and he doesn’t have a listed home phone number.
