Tammy McCann, big band at Metropolis for Memorial Day

On May 26, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre will hold a Memorial Day concert featuring nationally acclaimed jazz singer Tammy McCann and an 18-piece big band performing classic World War II era songs.

The Memorial Day Salute also will recognize Arlington Heights’ fallen heroes and the sacrifice they made for their country.

Tammy McCann is a Chicago native and internationally known jazz singer who has shared the stage with Ramsey Lewis and Ray Charles, and recently returned from a club tour of New York City where she performed at Birdland, Blue Note, Small’s, The Metropolitan Room, and Dizzy’s at Lincoln Center.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Arlington Heights’ Memorial Park Fund. The show begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $35; $30 for seniors and veterans. Buy tickets at MetropolisArts.com or at the box office, (847) 577.2121.

The Memorial Day Salute is part of the Live Music Series at Metropolis, which brings live music to the stage. This year’s concerts include the School of the Performing Arts Collage Concert, Second Hand Smoke, Fabulous Frank, Don’t Speak, Chris Petlak and Fill in the Blanks, and Serendipity.
