Council on aging thanks Barrington parks

The Barrington Area Council on Aging recently honored the Barrington Park District for its longtime partnership with BACOA.

The partnership between BACOA and the park district began in 1990, as a weekly program to provide a meal and socialization to seniors. Since then, the collaboration has grown to include outings and other activities, including BACOA’s weekly lunch and activity program that meets on Monday at Langendorf Park.

“This partnership has been invaluable to the village of Barrington and the entire Barrington area by giving older adults the chance to remain active and engaged residents of the community,” said Joyce Palmquist, BACOA’s executive director.

The Barrington Area Council on Aging Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization. Its mission is to serve seniors, family caregivers and the community. Visit our website at www.bacoa.org.
