Local charities receive funds from Libertyville Sunrise Rotary
Members of the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary recently welcomed various charities from around Lake County to distribute $60,000 in funds raised throughout the year.
On April 25, representatives from 29 local charities were honored at the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Charitable Giving Dinner at the Lambs Farm in Libertyville to celebrate the charities’ hard work throughout the year.
The Sunrise Rotary members look forward to this special dinner to individually recognize each charity and the work it does. These organizations provide social support to the community due to their unwavering commitment of time and energy.
In addition, the Sunrise Rotary gave out almost $60,000 to the various charities.
“This evening is a wonderful program where all of our efforts throughout the year come to fruition,” President Scott Hezner said in his opening remarks.
He said these organizations provide a range of services, including shelter for the homeless, psychological counseling, child care, scholarships, and job training, among others.
“While we are fortunate to be in a partnership with these organizations, ours is a very minor role compared to what these devoted people are able to accomplish in our community,” he said.
The recipients were: Bear Magic, Bernie’s Book Bank, Boys and Girls Club of Lake County, Career Resource Center, Center for Independent Living, David Adler Cultural Center, FIT Teen Moms, Free Spirits, Great Lakes Adaptive Sports, Healthreach, Helping From Heaven, Holy Family Food Pantry, I Plus Lake County, Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, Lake County Haven, Liberty Town Theater, Maristella, Mother’s Trust, Paint the Town, Reading Power, Rebuilding Together, SEDOL Foundation, Senior Council of Libertyville, STARS Swim Team, Topcats (LHS) Mentoring, Youth and Family Counseling, Youth Conservation Corps, Waukegan To College, and Willow House.
The club is always accepting new members and welcomes those who would like to attend a breakfast meeting. Contact Hezner at (847) 918-3800 or visit www.libertyvillesunriserotary.com.
