Pitching matchups: The White Sox' Jake Peavy (3-1) vs. Drew Smyly (1-0) today at 6:05 p.m.; Gavin Floyd (2-3, 3.13) vs. Max Scherzer (1-3) Saturday at 3:05 p.m.; Chris Sale (3-1) vs. Rick Porcello (2-2) Sunday at 12:05 p.m.

At a glance: The White Sox opened the home portion of their schedule against the Tigers in April and won two of three. Peavy was voted pitcher of the month for April. He has pitched back-to-back complete games and ranks second in the AL with a 1.67 ERA. Smyly, a left-hander, has made 4 impressive starts for the Tigers and has a 1.23 ERA. Detroit left fielder Delmon Young is eligible to return from his seven-day suspension tonight. Young was arrested in New York City last week on a hate-crime harassment charge. The Tigers have lost seven of nine.

Next: Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field, Monday-Wednesday. Monday is a day/night doubleheader.
