Submitted by city of Geneva

The Fox Valley Area will participate in “Community Wellness Day,” a day for Health, Safety, Environmental and Financial Awareness. The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Williamsburg Elementary School, 1812 Williamsburg Ave. in Geneva.

Community Wellness Day is a national event focusing on educating the members of the community on important information which is critical to the total wellness for all of our residents. Mayor Kevin Burns has recognized this as an important day in our community to empower people to take back responsibility for their families’ well-being.

The Geneva Police Department will be on hand to provide important safety information for children, families, and seniors. Various local businesses and organizations will also be there to provide wellness information and technology available in the Fox Valley area. The event is free. There will be food, fun and entertainment.

All proceeds from Community Wellness Day will be donated to The LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. LivingWell is a community-based, not-for-profit center dedicated to providing people with cancer, their families and friends, the support and educational services they need when going through this difficult time.
