Artists invited to join outdoor showcase in Aurora

This summer, the Cultural Creatives will bring the Aurora ArtWalk back to Stolp Island in downtown Aurora and there’s room for a few more artists.

The “Aurora ArtWalk: A Work in Progress” will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 8. Stolp Avenue and the Downer Place construction zone will be transformed into an art gallery tour concentrated in a three-block area. More than a dozen venues include the Aurora Public Library, Back Third Audio, River’s Edge Cafe, Aurora Art & History Center, Millennium Park, and numerous storefronts on Stolp Avenue.

Open-call artists are eligible to win more than $1,000 in cash prizes and awards, along with a solo exhibit in the Paramount Theatre Art Gallery. Artists are encouraged to offer work for sale; the Aurora ArtWalk never asks for any commission.

All independent open-call submissions are due by midnight Sunday, May 6. For an application, visit AuroraArtWalk.com.
