Sons of American Legion hosts pancake breakfast
The Sons of the American Legion pancake breakfast is open to the public from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 19, at the American Legion Hall, 122 W. Palatine Road, Palatine, to raise funds for Legion Family Charities.
“We want to invite the community to join us for our Armed Forces Day pancake breakfast,” said Jason Foltyn, commander of the SAL
The cost is $6; $4 for veterans; $3 for children ages 6-12; and free for kids younger than 5 and veterans older than 62.
The SAL will be serving “all-you-can-eat” pancakes and French toast, with ham, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, orange juice, coffee and milk.
“We are always looking for new members for the Palatine Sons of the American Legion,” Foltyn said. “If you are interested in supporting those individuals who have defended our country, then the SAL is the organization for you.”

The Sons of the American Legion was created in 1932 as an organization within the American Legion. The SAL is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents or grandparent served in the United States military and became eligible for membership in the American Legion. There are currently 300,000 members of the SAL in this country and abroad.
The Palatine chapter holds its monthly general meeting at 10:30 a.m. the first Saturday of the month at the American Legion Hall on Palatine Road in Palatine.
