Naperville North hands Glenbard North first loss

Naperville North scored 4 runs in the top of the sixth inning and handed No. 1 Glenbard North its first loss, 4-3 in a game called in the top of the seventh Tuesday in Carol Stream.

Trailing 2-0 after five innings, the Huskies (13-7, 5-2 DuPage Valley Conference) scored a run on a wild pitch and got a two-out run-scoring single from Kelsey Ladone to tie it. After another wild pitch Rachel Martin delivered a two-run go-ahead single. Naperville North has defeated Glenbard North, Benet and Bartlett — the top three teams in the latest Daily Herald Top 20.

Losing pitcher Lilly Fecho (15-1) struck out 10 and also doubled twice and drove in 2 runs for Glenbard North (20-1, 6-1). Bri Harn walked twice and scored 2 runs and Heather Sperlazzo doubled and scored a run for the Panthers.
