Attempt to discredit president was weak
Reader Kelley Smith (Fence Post, April 17) wants to see college transcripts of President Obama because she can’t believe he was the president of Harvard’s Law Review? Would she also like to see his birth certificate? It’s available online.
The Supreme Court is a group of nonelected persons; they are appointees of the president. Does the reader not know that George W. Bush also noted that the justices are not elected and he warned them against being “activists.” This was even before the five conservatives gave away our democratic election process to the richest donors with their Citizens United ruling.
Ms. Smith, with her misinterpretation of the Constitution and the Supreme Court, has attempted to discredit the president, impugn his integrity and accuse him of being elected dishonestly. When the facts are against one’s position, the only recourse is to attack the person.
