Lombard: Addresses painted on curb not required
LOMBARD, Illinois—Many residents have telephoned the Village regarding a flyer that they have received about painting their address numbers on the curbs in front of their house.
The Village is not endorsing this practice and the Fire Department will always look to the house for the address, according to Lombard Fire Marshal, Chuck Riforgiate.
Residents who are unsure of advertisements for work that mention Village-related services, are encouraged to contact the Village Hall for verification.
Also, it should be noted that any correspondence from the Village would indicate such and include the Village of Lombard official logo.
“Many times companies will try and persuade unsuspecting homeowners to purchase a service and give the impression that the Village is involved,” said Lombard Village President William Mueller. “If anyone ever has a question, please contact us to be sure,” he added.
