Hoffman Estates walk fights child abuse
A 3K walk 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12, will benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northwest Cook County, which works to enhance the quality of life for more than 600 local children annually traumatized by abuse and violence. Walkers and donors are still being sought for the walk at 640 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates. Walkers can sign up at the group’s website cachelps.org. Registration is $20. Walkers can also make donations to the center directly and seek donations from non-walkers.
CAC is open 24/7 for calls from those who think a child might be in danger. CAC coordinates the investigation of reports of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse. For information, contact Susan Reedquist, (847) 885-0100 or srcac@sbcglobal.net.
