Dist. 129 benefit to help fund performing arts endowment

“Banding Together,” a concert event to raise funds for the Meg Papadolias Endowment for the Performing Arts, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Ballydoyle’s, 28 W. New York St., Aurora. The Papadolias Fund focuses on District 129 students by providing scholarships, fostering innovative programs, providing funds for music and performance trips.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door, online or at West Aurora High School.
This event will feature a number of local bands most of whom feature at least one West Aurora alumnus. In addition, there will be guest vocal appearances from a number of former West students. Scheduled bands include Darling Youth, which just won the 2012 West Aurora High Battle of the Bands; Hoss; The Jimmy Kingsway Band; The Kevin Trudo and Meathawk; Printer’s Row and Acoustic Alternatives.
There will be guest performances by: Jason Azem and John Papadolias, Class of 1985; Tyler Bachman, Jenny Lupa and Troy Thurwell, Class of 2010; Jim Barsanti, Chris Galor, and Jay Harrison, Class of 1981; Brian Larkin, Class of 1993; Pete Lindenmeyer and Andrew Papadolias, Class of 1988; Bob Lisberg and Tracey Sturdivant, Class of 1987; David Cooper and Jeff Probst, Class of 1994; Stepanie Leo, Class of 1999; Jackson Schultz, Class of 2007; and more.
The Meg Papadolias Endowment Fund was established in her honor to commemorate her more than 30 years of service in the West Aurora School District. It is administered by the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for the A+ Foundation for West Aurora Schools. The goal is to raise $8,000 with this event to provide fully funded status to the endowment. Contributions can also be make at communityfoundationfrv.org.
