Poll Vault: If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

Say you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, from Confucius to the leader of the free world. (No, thatÂ’s not Barack Obama in the photo.) What would you eat and what would you talk about? Getty Images

This is indeed a question from the vault. I posed this query to the Daily Herald copy desk in an e-poll back on Dec. 13, 2002:

If you could have dinner with anyone (living or deceased), whom would you invite and what would you talk about?

Would you sup with a long-gone historical figure, such as Napoleon Bonaparte or Abraham Lincoln? Are you more interested in having a conversation with current political leaders, such as President Barack Obama or GOP front-runner Mitt Romney?

Would you pick a beloved relative who’s no longer with us? Or are in you into celebrity — reservation for Kardashian, party of two?
