Naperville police seeking man who spooked teen girl

Naperville police are seeking to identify a man who approached a teenage girl near Barkdoll and Royce roads and asked her several questions, including what school she attended and how old she was.

About 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the teenager was walking south on Barkdoll Road approaching Royce Road when an older, black SUV pulled up alongside her, authorities said. The girl said the driver, a white man in his 30s with a medium build and thin, light brown hair, rolled down the passenger window and began asking her questions.

When he asked what school she attended and how old she was, the girl told police she replied, “Why?”. She told police the man answered, “Because I think you are cute.

The girl then ran from the area.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Naperville police ask anyone who knows the man’s identity or has information about his interaction with the teenage girl to call Investigator Erin Gibler at (630) 305-5453 or Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006.
