2 accused in East St. Louis shooting death

BELLEVILLE — A man and teenager are jailed on $2 million bond apiece on charges related to the shooting death of a 19-year-old man in East St. Louis.

St. Clair County prosecutors charged 20-year-old Alan Davis Jr. of East St. Louis and 16-year-old William Warner of Washington Park on Wednesday with first-degree murder. Warner is charged as an adult.

Police say officers responding Sunday morning to reports of gunfire found Jonathan Williams wounded in a field. He later died at a St. Louis hospital.

An investigator says the men had been arguing before the shooting, and that the victim did not know either of the suspects.

Online court records do not show whether Davis or Warner have attorneys. Neither man has a listed home telephone number.
