Carmel celebrates 50th anniversary with run/walk

As part of Carmel Catholic High School’s 50th anniversary celebration, the school is hosting a community 5K run-walk/1-mile walk Sunday at Carmel in Mundelein. Race-day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race will start at 9 a.m.

The event is targeted to runners, walkers, families, eeryone who enjoys exercise and the outdoors. To further the community focus of this event, dog walkers and babies in strollers are welcome to participate. The dog walkers and babies in strollers will take a slightly different course than the actual course for serious-minded runners.

Cost to participate is $20 for adults and $10 for students and children up to 18 years of age. Entry fee includes run/walk, T-shirt and boxed breakfast.

Awards given for top overall male and overall female. Awards also given for top three male and female in age group divisions.

Schedule of events:

타 7:30-8:45 a.m. : registration

타 8 a.m.: mass available in Carmel’s chapel for all participants

타 9 a.m.: 5K race start time

타 9:15 a.m.: 1K fun run

10 a.m.-noon: breakfast
