Geneva Unit District 304 to host parenting workshop
Submitted by Geneva Unit District 304
Parents are invited to sign up for an updated version of Parent to Parent 2000/Lessons Learned, the popular series of parenting workshops created by Bill Oliver.
Geneva Unit District 304 will host this series to give parents advice and guidance on raising children in the 21st century.
The spring 2012 class, which begins April 26, contains four sessions that will provide parents with direction and guidance in their battle against the “toxic culture” in which they are forced to raise their children today.
The program is valuable to parents of children of any age and covers such topics as recognizing the signs and symptoms of an unhealthy child, the battle against teen drinking and drug use, the dangers of the Internet, and identifying the common traps parents fall into with children, among others.
More than half of the class time will be spent discussing these important issues with other parents and sharing collective experiences.
The spring class will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursdays, April 26, May 3, May 10 and 17, in the first-floor conference room at the district administrative offices, 227 N. Fourth St. All sessions are free, and all parents from throughout Kane County are invited to participate/
