A poignant tale of two families
I found it interesting, ironic and sad, how often the paper reports about people having such opposite experiences. On April 14, your front page highlighted a story about a young homeless family asking for help along a busy intersection near Arlington Heights. Just above that story, next to the Daily Herald banner, was the lead-in to a story about the happy couple who had just won millions in the lottery.
Wouldn’t it be great if those two families, so close in proximity in the paper, could also become close in reality? I suppose, in a larger sense, that would be like asking the 1 percent to help out the 99 percent. But I’m just sayin’.
