Arson task force investigating Villa Park fire
A fire that started about 1:30 a.m. Monday at an Enterprise Rent-A-Car office building in Villa Park is being investigated as suspicious, authorities said.
Fire broke out in the back garage area of the building at 113 W. Roosevelt Road early Monday morning and was extinguished in about an hour, Villa Park fire Lt. Dave Trotter said.
One resident of an apartment above the office building was home at the time of the fire and was evacuated, but no one was injured.
Trotter said the fire seemed suspicious, but he could not elaborate as to why. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the DuPage County Arson Task Force, he said.
Fire crews from Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Oakbrook Terrace and York Center assisted in Villa Park’s response.
