Village board releases minutes from April meeting
On April 23, Lombard Village President William J. Mueller and Village Clerk Brigitte O'Brien released the minutes from the Lombard Village Board of Trustees Action of April 19, 2012 Board Meeting.
VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
Public Hearing
A Public Hearing was conducted for the purpose of hearing written and oral comments from the public concerning the proposed Electric Residential Aggregation for residents and small businesses of the Village of Lombard. Several residents spoke in favor of the plan, including clean energy as a part of this plan. Another hearing will be held prior to the May 3, 2012 Village Board Meeting.
• Village President conducted a Swearing-in-Ceremony for Probationary Patrol Officer Charles Brack.
• Proclamations were read by the Acting Village Clerk, Denise Kalke, recognizing Arbor Day and Lombard Pride Week in Lombard.
Ordinances Approved With the Waiver of First Reading as Requested
• Waiver of bid and award of a contract to Currie Motors in the amount of $25,944 for the purchase of a new 4x4 F-250 crew cab pickup truck with plow for the replacement for the Fire Department vehicle with a trade in allowance of $6,000.
• Waiver of bid and award of a contract to West Side Tractor for one new Vibrator Asphalt Compactor with Trailer in the amount of $46,944 with a trade in allowance of $20,744.

Other Ordinances on First Reading
• Granting of a liquor license to Massdaia located at 801 E. Butterfield Rd.
.Ordinances Approved on Second Reading
• Adoption of the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code.
• Adoption of the 2012 International Energy Code, the 2009 International Plumbing Code and the Federal and State Accessibility Codes.
• Adopting the Village Annual Budget.
• Vacation of a portion of the public-right-of way for the construction of a pedestrian underpass at Park Ave. and the Metra Train Station.

Resolutions Approved
• Authorizing the Village to do work within the State right-of-way.
• Finley Rd. pavement rehabilitation design engineering contract Amendment #1.
Other Matters
Approved the following:
• Request for a waiver of bids and award a contract to Breathing Air Systems Inc. in the amount of $33,753.95. This unit will replace the existing non-functioning air compressor system in the fire department which is beyond repair.
• Award a contract to Dawson Tree Service in the amount of $41,700 for the Village tree and stump removal program for parkway trees lost to the emerald ash borer.
• Request for a waiver of bids and authorization to purchase two new control panels from Fiolo Corp. in the amount of $137,579 for lift station improvements at Charles Lane and Lincoln/Ash/Willow.
• Request by the Lombard Kiwanis Club for the temporary installation of signs on Village owned properties for the promotion of their Annual Housewalk on May 18.
Ordinances on First Reading
• Amendments to the Village Code pertaining to outdoor cafes and seating within the public right-of-way. Referred back to the Economic & Community Development Committee for further review.

Agenda Items for Discussion
• Review of Village Districts as a result of the 2010 Census results.
