Cake competition April 22 in Batavia

The North Aurora River District Alliance will hold its “That Takes the Cake” Show and Competition from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water St. in Batavia.

There will be the live cake challenge with local TV celebrities and national cake show participants. They will spend a few hours decorating cakes in front of the audience with an emcee following along with updates; it’s a rematch from a recent show in Kansas City. They have all been seen on TLC and Food Network shows recently.

Also, there will be a free drop-in cupcake decorating class for kids during Water St. Studios “Awesome Art Afternoons” between 1 and 3 p.m. There will be fun cake skirmishes; all attendees can enter to participate (random drawing) in either a cupcake-eating contest or cake-decorating contest (mini) for prizes, etc. There will be lots of raffle prizes too and the People’s Choice Award competition. Plus a cupcake tasting with a lot of glamour cupcake flavors.
