Opera singers to perform at soiree in Medinah Country Club

On Wednesday, April 25, the Barrington Chapter Lyric Opera of Chicago will host an afternoon soiree of opera arias and a luncheon. This event will be held at the Medinah Country Club, host of the 2012 Ryder Cup.

Entertainment will include arias sung by internationally known bass Andrea Silvestrelli and acclaimed soprano Kimberly Jones. The accompanist will be Irina Feoktistova. A plated luncheon with a choice of sauteed chicken piccata with orzo pasta, roasted mushrooms, tomatoes, artichokes and lemon caper sauce or a potato crusted tilapia, sauteed artichokes, tomatoes in lemon butter sauce. Both are accompanied by spinach salad and followed by creme brulee with fresh berries for dessert.

Registration and cash bar will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; luncheon from 12:15-1:30 p.m. and concert from 2-2:50 p.m.

Cost is $65 for members, $75 for guests. Complimentary valet parking. Send a check by Friday, April 20, to Margit Vogel, 260 Timber Ridge Lane Apt A, Lake Barrington, IL 60010-1670. Along with your entree choice, your name and phone number must appear on your check. Dress code excludes jeans and denim of any color or style; they are not allowed on the club’s premises.
