Wisconsin woman pleads not guilty in deaths of 3

MANITOWOC, Wis. — A Manitowoc woman has pleaded not guilty to driving drunk and killing an elderly couple and their daughter as they stood in a yard watching a roofing project.

Seventy-nine-year-old Lawrence Gerroll, his 75-year-old wife Lou Gerroll and 48-year-old daughter, Joan Gerroll, were killed Oct. 12 after they were struck by a van that had careened off a road in the town of Kossuth. The couple’s son, Douglas Gerroll, witnessed the crash while working on a roof.

Forty-four-year-old Becky Holly is facing 10 criminal charges, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Douglas Gerroll identified Holly as the van’s driver during her appearance in Manitowoc County Circuit Court Tuesday.

The Manitowoc Herald Times reports Holly’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.
