New Warren High board member:

Socrates Rivers has been selected to fill an open seat on the board of Gurnee-based Warren Township High School District 121. Rivers was seated at a recent board meeting and replaces Charles Crowley Jr., who was first elected to the Warren board in 2005. Crowley’s resignation in February created the vacancy on the seven-member District 121 board. Rivers, a former Warren-Newport Public Library board member, will finish out a four-year position that’s up for re-election in April 2013. Rivers finished last in a six-way race for a District 121 board seat in the 2007 election.
