Family of Villa Park man forms memorial fund

The family of a Villa Park man who drowned over the weekend in a condominium complex pond has formed a fund to collect donations in his memory, according to Eric Miller, the family's attorney.

Donations should be directed to the Anthony Hensley Memorial Children's Fund, c/o Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave, Villa Park, IL, 60181.

Hensley, 37, worked for a North Barrington-based company that supplies swans to keep geese away from ponds and lakes in housing complexes, corporate parks and other properties.

Cook County sheriff's police have said Hensley was in a kayak to check on the swans at the Bay Colony Condominiums near Des Plaines on Saturday morning when a swan attacked him, causing him to fall into the water and drown.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
