Quinn: Don’t follow Wisconsin governor’s ‘prescriptions’
SPRINGFIELD — Gov. Pat Quinn didn’t exactly offer a warm welcome to his visiting Wisconsin counterpart Tuesday.
The Democrat greeted Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s trip to Springfield by criticizing Walker’s record on job creation.
Quinn says Wisconsin’s record on job growth is the worst of 50 states and that Illinois should reject Walker’s “prescriptions.”
Walker spoke to business leaders in Springfield and touted his quick action to erase a budget deficit in the Badger State without raising taxes when he took office last year.
But his restrictions on union bargaining power started a move to have him recalled in a June 5 election.
