Few residents should not control roads
I have been a resident of Arlington Heights since 1985. I attended the village hall meeting on Monday, April 9, regarding the opening up of the exits of Northwest Community Hospital to Kirchoff Road. For the last 10 years I have seen certain residents try to control the access of certain roads in our community. First they closed access to Kirchoff Road by limiting the exits out of the hospital, then certain residents tried to circumvent traffic off of other access roads by detouring traffic to Arlington Heights Road. Everyone knows how that worked out.
If the residents want safety for their side streets then maybe this can be accomplished by having more police patrol these said side- streets and issuing tickets when necessary. These roadways were built for people to utilize to gain access to different areas of Arlington Heights.
I challenge every person from the North, South, East and West side of Arlington Heights to attend the next village hall meeting in support of opening Kirchoff and Ridge and any other road in this community to all residents, nonresidents and anyone else who chooses to utilize them. Stop the tyranny!
