Lucky Jack’s in Bartlett closed due to license

Lucky Jack’s in downtown Bartlett shut its doors on April 12 due to issues with its state liquor license, village officials confirmed this week.

“This is just something they’re figuring out with the state,” said Assistant Village Administrator Paula Schumacher, adding that it is possible Lucky Jack’s could reopen. “They would either have to remove the alcohol from the building or close, and it’s just easier to close.”

Susan Hofer, spokeswoman for the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, said Lucky Jack’s liquor license expired on March 31 and wasn’t renewed.

She said according to the commission’s database, which goes back to 1997, there have been no significant disciplinary actions against Lucky Jack’s and no other periods in that time that it has been without a liquor license.

The owners of Lucky Jack’s could not be reached. It is unknown whether there are plans to reopen the bar.
