Romney a stooge for corporations

Mitt Romney has pledged to repeal health care reform on day one if elected ... a huge blow to all Americans.

Here are the guarantees under Obama’s Affordable Care Act:

Ÿ Children can no longer be denied health care for pre-existing conditions and more than 50,000 additional children now have access to health care.

Ÿ Young adults can stay on their parents’ policy until age 26 ... benefiting more than 2.5 million young adults since Sept. 2010.

Ÿ The “doughnut hole” for seniors is closed by 50 and 75 percent by 2020.

Ÿ Individuals with serious chronic illnesses cannot be denied coverage or charged exorbitant premiums.

Ÿ The Affordable Health Care Act, when fully implemented will save $200 billion over 10 years.

In addition to destroying the guarantees above, the Romney/Ryan budget will make severe cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency, educational services for children, women’s health issues, Planned Parenthood, housing, science, federal workers, transportation, food stamps, unemployment benefits, Pell Grants, student loans, job retraining, worker’s rights and discretionary funds just so the tax breaks can continue to go into the pockets of the one-percenters. You know, the ones like Romney, who harbor their profits in offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes, the ones who send jobs overseas for cheaper labor and the ones who pay a lesser percentage of their incomes for taxes than the rest of the population.

We face two starkly different visions for the future. We can ensure everyone a fair shot, make investments necessary for economic growth and stand up for the middle class, or we can continue to allow Romney/Ryan’s budget make cuts to the middle class and ask absolutely nothing from those who can well afford paying their fair share. Romney understands all this all too well, but he chooses to be the figurehead for the corporations.
