Tea Party intrudes on county board

The primary season is over and most of Lake County sat home. My own county board district sat home and what do we have to show for the upcoming general election?

It isn’t our long-serving county board commissioner and county board chairwoman, nor is it the capable individual who was appointed to finish out an unexpired term.

Nope. We got ourselves a genuine Tea Party candidate. One who is joined at the hips with that embarrassing congressman from the 8th District. One whose fundraising comes mostly from outside of the district and is Tea Party money. Did you see all of those big red white and blue signs?

District 3 is a fine district in Lake County with a long tradition of great GOP representatives. Why on earth would we want a Tea Party candidate elected to represent us? Why? Say no to the Tea Party in Lake County government at all levels.

There is no room for disruption and no room for “no compromise”
