Two teens arrested in armed robbery of a Des Plaines teen during a drug deal
Teenagers from Skokie and Evanston have been charged with the armed robbery of a Des Plaines teen in what Des Plaines police say was a drug deal gone bad.
About 4 p.m. April 6, a 19-year-old Des Plaines resident reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by two offenders on the 1300 block of Forest Avenue.
The victim stated that he met with George Sabo, 17, of the 6800 block of Lavergne in Skokie, and Julian Hutchinson, 18, of the 600 block of South Boulevard in Evanston to complete a narcotics transaction which was arranged earlier in the day.
The victim, an aquaintance of Sabo, got in a vehicle, after which Hutchinson pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded that he turn over everything in his pockets, police reports said. Owens handed over approximately $75, a wallet, computer flasdrive and iPhone.
The two teens subsequently werer arrested in Skokie and implicated themselves in the armed robbery, police said. The victim’s property was recovered along with the .22 caliber pistol that was used during the robbery.
