Coast Guard to offer boating safety classes

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 7-11 has scheduled a series of basic boating safety classes this spring.

Each two-class session will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on consecutive Saturdays. This year’s remaining sessions will be April 21 and 28; May 12 and 19; and June 9 and 16.

The May classes will be at Bald Knob Marina, 515 Bald Knob Road in Johnsburg. The April and June sessions will be at West Marine, 63 W. Rand Road in Arlington Heights.

The cost is $35 per individual or $50 per family. Participating children must be at least 12 years old. To register, call Marlene at (630) 860-2975.
