Alcohol Awareness Month initiative in Gurnee

Gurnee Mayor Kristina Kovarik is scheduled to participate Thursday in an initiative to kick off Alcohol Awareness Month activities. Kovarik will be part of “Project Sticker Shock,” which is sponsored by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission’s “Don’t Be Sorry” campaign. Consisting of teenagers, law enforcement personnel and community leaders, these volunteers statewide will post stickers, window decals, posters and signs to remind adults it is illegal to provide alcohol to minors and for minors to use a fake ID. Kovarik will join the Gurnee volunteers to visit Cardinal Liquors, Jewel-Osco and Dino’s Liquors.
