Submitted by Administer Justice

Administer Justice, a nonprofit charitable legal aid organization, was recently awarded the annual Elgin Image Award.

The Elgin Image Advisory Commission annually hosts the award program to honor the many individuals and organizations that provide significant contributions to the community. Nominees represent a variety of community projects and efforts, special events, cultural programs and various volunteer and business efforts.

Administer Justice provides free civil legal assistance to thousands of area residents every year through a comprehensive program of educational outreach, legal assistance, government intervention and conflict resolution services. The organization, headquartered in Elgin, served nearly 6,200 individuals in 2011 with the help of more than 700 volunteers who donated over 10,000 hours.

“We are honored to receive this award as we stand committed to our pledge of justice for all while providing compassion and hope to our most vulnerable citizens,” said Executive Director Bruce Strom.
