Wis. hoarder hopes others learn from her example
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — A Sheboygan woman who had 50 pets removed from her home last October says she has some advice for other hoarders: Get help before things get out of hand.
Deb Florian pleaded no contest in December to three misdemeanor charges of intentionally mistreating animals. In response a judge ordered that she not own or take care of pets for a year.
A WTMJ-TV report says the smell from Florian's home used to be overwhelming. The house was eventually condemned.
The 57-year-old says she used to keep cats, dogs and birds for placement in homes, but sometimes no one wanted the animals. It became harder to keep up, and slowly things spiraled out of control.
She says she hopes other hoarders will learn from her lesson and get help.
