Event to showcase local wedding industry
Christina Currie Events Inc., of Barrington, will host the “Grace Meets Glamour” wedding affair from 1 to 3 p.m. April 29 at the Allerton Hotel’s Tip Top Tap Ballroom in Chicago.
The event will showcase some of the leading companies in the local wedding industry such as photographers, stationers, musicians, bridal salons, artists and florists.
It will feature a bridal fashion show and live music while serving champagne, hors d’oeuvres and wedding cakes. Designer tablescapes will be showcased by The Meetinghouse Companies Inc. From vintage style to classic Chicago to urban chic we’ll show endless ideas on how to set the right mood for your wedding. All brides will receive gifts and helpful ideas throughout the event.
Many bridal expos limit the availability to actually speak with vendors.
Owner Christina Currie of Inverness hopes that with a limited number of guests, and some of her favorite vendors from the Chicagoland area, guests will receive personalized one-on-one attention that is important when planning a wedding.
Currie is an award-winning veteran party planner. She specializes in full-service weddings and productions. She has spent more than 20 years organizing stylish celebrations for hundreds of clients. As head of Christina Currie Events, she is intimately involved in every step of your event process and oversees each event from start to finish. She enjoys the one-on-one relationship and caters to a smaller, more intimate clientele.
The Christina Currie Events Inc. philosophy is simple: the journey of planning should be just as thrilling and enjoyable as the event itself. Her boutique style business started in 2004 and since then has won numerous N.I.C.E. awards. The award combines both the National Association of Catering Executives and International Special Events Society. She is currently nominated for three N.I.C.E. awards at this year’s 11th annual award ceremony, on April 17.
The fashion show models are will be from the Barrington area; JP Moran, Zach Trzaska, Aaron Foley, John Gallagher, Lauren Cumbo, Masumi Amin, Anne Mannelly, Tessa Bullen, Mary Grace Kelleher, and Ava Currie.
