Get a window seat on Chicagoland railroad history

The Friends of the Dundee Library invites the community to take a moment to reflect back to the World War I and II eras.

On Saturday, June 16, join “The Milwaukee Road in the Chicago Area Between the Wars” at 2 p.m. Watch yesteryear chug by as Ted Schnepf of Rails Unlimited in Elgin takes you on a journey around the Chicago area via the Milwaukee Road between World War I and World War II. A black and white video presentation shows the view out the window as depots, buildings, and rural vistas fly by.

The programs is free and will be presented in the lower-level meeting room of the library, 555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee.

Registration is recommended. To register, visit the “Events & Registration” page at dundeelibrary.info, stop by the Information Services desk on the main level, or call (847) 428-3661, ext. 308. The Dundee Township Public Library District serves residents of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, and parts of Algonquin.
