Dundee Library hosts Misty River Music Makers concert
Submitted by Fox River Valley Public Library District
The Dundee Library welcomes the Misty River Music Makers, the Fox Valley women’s a cappella chorus, for a memorable four-part harmony performance of upbeat tunes, ballads, contemporary numbers, show tunes and more. The show will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Dundee Library, 555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee.
First and foremost, Misty River is a place where friendship and song blend together. Members are a diverse group of women of all ages from the Fox Valley area and the western suburbs of Chicago. They were founded in 1983 as a chapter of the larger organization, Harmony Inc., an international, non-profit, educational and singing organization for women.
As a member of Harmony Inc., Misty River has competed at area and international events. The chorus placed second in the recent Region 4 Area Competition and is a three-time winner of the Nancy Stevenson Memorial Trophy, awarded to the highest-ranking small chorus having 25 or fewer members on the contest stage.
The program is free. Registration is recommended. To register, visit the “Events & Registration” page at www.frvpld.info, stop by the Information Services Desk, or call (847) 428-3661, press 1.
