Arlington Hts. Garden Club offers scholarship
The Arlington Heights Garden Club has awarded academic scholarships to 19 outstanding students since 2003. This year, a $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing study in the fields of horticulture, botany, forestry, agriculture or environmental sciences.
Other fields of interest will also be given consideration if applicant can demonstrate a strong working experience in the horticulture/floral/nursery community over the past year.
All applicants must be residents of Arlington Heights or adjoining communities, have a C or better GPA, and be pursuing enrollment for the 2012-2013 school term in a vocational or technical school, community college or university.
Proceeds from the annual Garden Walk, scheduled for July 22, are used to fund scholarship and conservation efforts.
