Buddy Foundation doing excellent work

Around 17 years ago, people who loved animals made that love into an actual nonprofit organization. Today that organization is on 65 W. Seegers Road, Arlington Heights, and it’s called the Buddy Foundation.

My name is Nathan Ackison. You might have seen me around town driving a red car with Roadside Rescue stickers on it. Well it’s not only humans that need rescue, but animals too — and The Buddy Foundation is at the forefront of the effort to rescue animals.

When I first signed up to serve as a volunteer I had no idea what to expect other than that I would be helping animals. What I discovered was that the Buddy Foundation is doing such a good deed it’s a shame that there aren’t more of them.

I am writing this letter to encourage local support and knowledge of what I consider to be a help to our society — the Buddy Foundation. After all, who wants dangerous animals unkept in the streets or animals abused at home? Thanks to the Buddy Foundation, anyone can take such animals in to where they will have a nice place to live out the remainder of their poor lives. Even better, sometimes people will come in and buy the animals to take home with them. A kind gentleman named Jim explained how the older animals usually go with the older people.

But even if no one wants them, at least the animals get to live the rest of their lives in relative happiness. The Buddy’s in Arlington Heights currently has about 28 dogs and 100 cats. This organization is definitely making our world a better place by helping the animals which is our responsibility as the beings in charge of this planet.

The adoption fees go back to the shelter, and the entire venture is nonprofit. If you want to help spread the name get a Buddy’s Bumper sticker, but of course the best way is to volunteer. I give my full support to the Buddy’s organization and hope to see them expand to take care of animals all over the world.
