Probation for Chicago man charged with possession
A 33-year-old Chicago man has received a jail term and a year’s probation after pleading guilty to drug possession.
Rolando Aguirre, of the 1000 block of Lawndale, was arrested in February after police executed a search warrant on a Hoffman Estates sports bar.
He pleaded guilty recently in a Rolling Meadows courtroom to possession of a controlled substance. In exchange for his guilty plea, a Cook County judge sentenced Aguirre to 50 days in jail and 12 months probation with TASC supervision. TASC refers to Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities, an organization that assists people with substance abuse and mental health issues.
At the time of his arrest, Aguirre was wanted on a DuPage County warrant on charges of misdemeanor theft, prosecutors said.
