Tyranny masked in health care law?

Many years ago (around 1997) the makers of Bic Pens ran a contest offering a free college education for the best essay of 50 words or less on the value of a college education. I didn’t win that contest, unfortunately, but i remember my entry, and all these years later my words seem quite fitting in regards to the debate over President Obama’s health care law. See if you agree:

“Tyranny is an easily recognizable threat when oppressors march with goosesteps and brandish guns. In highly technological democracies however, tyranny masks itself in the guise of protective laws and punitive taxations, lulling unsuspecting populaces by surreptitiously eroding their freedoms. Only the higher educated can discern this and so impede them.”
