Some thank-yous for opinions well stated
Thanks for Robert Parker’s well-written letter about “How to keep it fair for the people” (Fence Post, March 27). I agree with all his points, and we the voters need to get together and make changes.
The only way to have a fair playing field for the voters is to have Congress participate in Social Security like the rest of us and have the politicians buy their own health insurance plans like the rest of us. Until this happens, they will never really care about changes because they live in their own little world and have a golden parachute when they decide to retire. Term limits are a must.
Another thought: Why is Sen. Dick Durbin calling for a hearing on the NFL bounties. Where is that money going to come from? Leave it alone, Sen. Durbin; you have more important things to do, like helping the people of Illinois.
One more thought: Thank you to the Muslim who wrote that his religion does not preach killing and hatred. We need more people of that religion to come forward and show the rest of us that Muslims do not hate the rest of the world.
